At Camp Smarty Pants, we offer home-based boarding, board & train, and daycare on our 7 acre property in Baltimore County. Dogs will enjoy our spacious fenced play areas, lots of attention, enrichment activities, and low dog-to-person ratio.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Sleep isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Dogs sleep in crates, private kennel suites, or loose with access to beds and furniture depending on their own preferences, routines, and safety.

Activities

Our beautiful location offers a variety of natural outdoor experiences in different play areas. In addition to supervised playtime in the meadow, offerings include forest walks (long-line), a digging pit, puzzle toys such as snuffle mats, slow feeder treats, and stuffed Kongs and Toppls tailored to your individual pup. Please be aware that water activities (both pools and creek splashing) are a frequent activity, weather permitting, and that dogs *will* get wet, muddy, and tired. (So do the humans.)

Requirements

All dogs must be current on vaccinations (parvo/distemper and rabies are required; lepto, bordatella and canine influenza are recommended but not required) and flea/tick preventative. Intact (not spayed or neutered) dogs are welcome on a case-by-case basis.

Separation Anxiety?

We know and understand separation anxiety, and are proud to offer day boarding/respite care for pet parents who are dealing with this frustrating condition on a limited basis. Priority is given to our existing clients, but we do have openings occasionally at this time.

TOURS

For the safety of our existing clients, we are unable to offer private tours. If you’d like to visit, please contact us for the next open house dates, or check our calendar for upcoming events.

Group Safety Policy

While we love special needs dogs, our highly-integrated boarding model means that guest dogs are part of our household during their stay. While we do carefully manage social groups and settings to ensure both dogs’ enjoyment and safety, we are not the right fit for all dogs. Many wonderful dogs don’t enjoy the company of other dogs, and that is NOT a failure on their part – but they will not be a good fit for our setting. All dogs must be evaluated before boarding with us for the first time, and we reserve the right to decline service to anyone.
